Prince and 3RDEYEGIRL will perform at central London venue, Ronnie Scotts, tonight (17 February 2014), following his double Sunday-night gig at Camden's Koko.
The iconic funk superstar announced the Ronnie Scotts gig on Saturday, 15 February 2014 as part of his newly-named Hit And Run tour. The star has been playing surprise shows across London since early February, thrilling fans with the opportunity to get up close and personal with a true muisic legend in small London venues. Once they had queued for hours outside the venues, of course. Ronnie Scotts has an audience capacity of just 140 people, so will be considerable smaller than his Koko show.
Some fans camped outside Koko overnight while others stood in the chilly London sun for hours on end yesterday to be in with a chance of seeing the 'Kiss' star, when the 1,400-capacity venue announced that he would be playing three shows in one evening - the first starting between 7pm and 7.30pm, with a second show due to begin between 9pm and 9.30pm, and then a final show promised to begin sometime between midnight and 12.30am.
However, staff at Koko began to let fans flurry in for free around 12am, when it transpired that Prince would in fact only be playing two shows.
Ronnie Scott's is located at 47 Frith Street, Soho, London. No times or ticket prices have been announced for the show yet. Dates and details of his Manchester gigs this week are expected to be announced in the coming days.
