Devo guitarist and founding member Bob Casale has died, at the age of 61.
Casale was part of the classic line-up of the US New Wave heroes, forming the band with brother Gerald, Mark and Bob Mothersbaugh and Alan Myers back in 1972.
"As an original member of Devo, Bob Casale was there in the trenches with me from the beginning," said Gerald. "He was excited about the possibility of Mark Mothersbaugh allowing Devo to play shows again.
"His sudden death from conditions that led to heart failure came as a total shock to us all."
Casale died on Sunday 17 February 2014 after heart failure resulting from other health complications.
