Lorde has won the Best British International female at the 2014 BRIT Awards.
The New Zealand newcomer beat the likes of Lady Gaga and Katy Perry to take the prize, but the singer took the opportunity to thank her competition for the quality of her fellow nominees.
"I'm still so new to getting awards like this, my brain feels like it's exploding," said the 'Royals' chart topper as she took to the stage.
"Thanks to the strong, inspiring women in this category. It's amazing to have such strong women in this category."
Lorde performed a brilliant version of her international chart topper with British duo Disclosure early in the show, with the Settle band adding subtle, elecronic tweaks to 'Royals', which topped the charts in both the UK and the US.
