Nicki Minaj is being sued for $30 million by a wig designer who claims she sold and licensed his designs without cutting him in on the profits.

Terence Davidson, who formerly worked for Nicki Minaj, claims the musician stole wig designs he personalised for her, and failed to provide him with appropriate compensation. Davidson also claims that Minaj's management discouraged him from a multi-million-dollar reality television show, by insisting it would disrupt the partnership.

Christopher Chestnut, the attorney representing Davidson, said: "This is basic American morality. Nicki Minaj lied to this man and cheated him."

Minaj and Davidson first worked together back in January 2010, before the release of her debut album Pink Friday. Her (in)famous wigs, which are usually bright bold colours, quickly became a signature look for Minaj.

In his complaint, Davidson says that he and Minaj planned to go into business together, selling wigs and making a reality show. As Minaj's fame rose though, Davidson's hopes of wig fame and fortune faded as he was edged out by the singer's management.

Minaj's wigs are currently on sale on her website, but none of the sale profits are currently going towards the man who claims to have designed them. Minaj is yet to comment on the potential lawsuit.
