Live Session: Salt Ashes covers Arctic Monkeys

Newcomer performs 'Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High'

'Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High' by the Arctic Monkeys has been covered by the good, the bad and the ugly of music, with Queens Of The Stone Age, Miley Cyrus and The Vamps all having a crack at the AM classic. None of them were very good, to be totally honest, but Salt Ashes version of the track is something truly special indeed.

The new interpretation on the track immediatly inverts the genders, putting a femine twist on the original lyrics whilst fusing it with elements of electronica . As a result the track transforms under the watchful eye of Brighton alumni Salt Ashes, building a new sense of subtlety upon the laidback groove of the original. Salt Ashes says Turner writes in a way that his lyrics resonate with all kinds of people, the song clearly resonated with her too. The video was filmed courtesy of The Miller a live music venue, pub and rehearsal space in London Bridge.
