Katy Perry has criticised by religous groups after it was noted that the singer's 'Dark Horse' video includes the burning of an Allah pendant.
The 'Dark Horse' video takes a cartoonish view of Egypt with Katy Perry immortalised as a colourful take on the infamous Cleopatra. Throughout the video she disintergrates all her suitors, one of which happens to be wearing an Allah pendant. This has provoked controversy with religous groups just weeks after Perry was accused of appropriating asian stereotypes for her AMA's performance.
As a result of the 'Dark Horse' video, a petition has been instigated on website change.org, requesting that the video be removed from Youtube. At the time of writing 52,500 signatures have been gathered, citing the burning of the Allah (which means god) pendant, as straight up blasphemy.

"Such goes to show, that blasphemy is clearly conveyed in the video," reads the petition. "Since Katy Perry (who appears to be representing an opposition of God) engulfs the believer and the word God in flames."
"This is the reason for lodging the petition so that people from different walks of life, different religions and from different parts of the world, agree that the video promotes blasphemy, using the name of God in an irrelevant and distasteful manner would be considered inappropriate by any religion."
It is however unlikely that Youtube will choose to remove the video as it violates none of the terms of service, meaning it doesn't violate copyright and it doesn't include pornography. Content is defined as the users viewpoint and is permitted to include offensive material as long is it doesn't violate the aforementioned conditions.
