Tool are taking to the road in 2014 for a string of live shows across America, and fellow LA band Failure have been announced to support the iconic rockers on tour.
The tour will be Tool's first tour in two years, and Failure (who recently reunited) will be joint Maynard James Keenan and co at most of their live dates.
"I’m seriously excited about these shows with Tool," said Failure’s Ken Andrews in a statement, discussing the support slot. "Looking forward to hanging with my old mates, but more importantly, it’s a chance for people to hear two bands that still really care about the long form album format and what you can do with that amount of time artistically, versus three-and-a-half minute singles."
No UK tour dates have been announced, but British fans are hoping Tool will bring their shows to our shores later in 2014.

Work has begun on a brand new Tool album, with frontman Maynard James Keenan recently describing the process as 'tedious', expressing his nuisance and having to wait for band members to pen music for new tracks.
"I don't write the music. They write the music," he told Rolling Stone in November 2013. "I wait for them to bring music to me. They tend to go back over and over stuff. It's a long process. For a person like me, it can be a very tedious process. In some ways, they are bigger perfectionists. But you can only help support their talent so long. They don't have to go through it 700 times. They can trust that first thought. But that's their process, so you gotta let them do it." And is that process happening? "I couldn't tell you."
