London metal band Rise To Remain have been named as replacements for Chimaira at this year's Takedown Festival in Southampton, after the band were forced to cancel their slot at the event.
Chimaira were forced to pull out of the festival due to frontman Mark Hunter falling ill a few weeks before the metal and rock event. The band issued a statement, with Hunter apologising to fans and explaning he is currently suffering from pneumonia.
"I'm sorry to say that Chimaira will have to postpone the upcoming European and UK dates. I am extremely sick at the moment with pneumonia and have been advised not to travel for a minimum of two weeks," said Hunter in a statement. "The last thing we want to do is cancel. We are working to reschedule the shows and will have new dates set up shortly. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and we hope to get over there ASAP. - Mark"
Now, the festival have announced that Rise To Remain will take their place at the event, which takes place on 15 March. Announcing the news to fans, the band spoke of their excitement at taking the headline slot, and wish Hunter a speedy recovery.
"We are happy to announce we'll be headlining the Uprawr stage on this years Takedown Festival!" The band wrote on Facebook. "This is last minute to step in for our brothers in Chimaira, who had to pull out as Mark is sick! We hope he recovers his health quickly, and we can't wait to see you guys there. Lets smash this one outta the park Risers!"
