The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas has revealed new material during series of US shows, taken from his upcoming solo album.
At Sleep Walking Cult in Washington DC on 9 March and the day after (10 March) at One Eyed Jacks in New Orleans he gave audiences a glimpse at what his new solo stuff will sound likes. Consequence of Sound report that the new tracks are titled 'Ego', '2231', 'Dr Acula', and 'Arabic'.
As well as including new material, Casablancas also played his Daft Punk collaboration 'Instant Crush', shown in a setlist that was pictured by a fan. The shows are reportedly leading up to his SXSW gig which takes place on Saturday in Texas (15 March). Before that there is still a show to go at Pencosala in Florida.

This week Julian also gave a sneak preview of what his solo album with The Voidz will sound like. In the clip, snippets of new songs are audible with video of Casablancas in the studio cut between. Listen below.
It is the first piece of solo material from Casablancas since 2009 when he released Phrazes For The Young. The new album is currently available for pre-order through Casablancas' official website.
