Imagine Dragons beat Queens of the Stone Age in the Grammys category for Best Rock Performance with their hit 'Radioactive' - at the ceremony where QOTSA's performance with Dave Grohl, Nine Inch Nails and Fleetwood Mac's Lindsay Buckingham was cut short for a commercial break.
"This next song is by Imagine Dragons," Homme joked at a Texas show last month, introducing the next track in their setlist, 'I Appear Missing'. The crowd boos and heckles before Homme adds: "Fuck everything. Fuck the man. Fuck Imagine Dragons and fuck the Grammys."
Now, in a new with FasterLouder (which you can watch below), Homme insists that his remarks were 'misunderstood'.
"I'd play anywhere, I don't care about the drama," he said. "I got misunderstood for something I said when I was reacting to someone in the audience recently, and not to mention I was really drunk. But the truth is, is that I'm a musician, I play my music.
"I don't really worry about the rest, and I don't think it's necessary to worry or sweat the rest of this stuff. Just go and play your music... I don't like to be disrespected, but nobody likes that."
Asked if Queens Of The Stone Age would ever perform at the Grammys again, Homme replied: "Yeah, if they got their shit together, maybe."
