Bestival have announced details of the return of their 'Grand Palace Of Entertainment' to their 'Desert Island Disco' themed festival this summer.

They've described it as 'an enchanted universe of convention defying oddments, jaw-dropping spectacles and mind-altering experiences' and 'inhibition eliminating, twisted wonderland, featuring dazzling queens and party-starting midnight cowboys, all waiting to take you on an unforgettable rainbow-coloured ride'.

Pretty full-on eh?

"I don’t know why but Bestival has always had a little undercurrent of high camp, flamboyance and downright gay attitude running through it, which we've thoroughly embraced and encouraged," said Bestival boss Rob Da Banks. "The last couple of years at the Grand Palace have seen this venue really pick up the pace with so many amazingly hysterical and hilarious drag acts, cabaret superstars and disco divas arriving in their droves.

"I love seeing very worried looking young men going in the door in their jeans and t-shirts and falling out the back door hours later festooned in sequins and pink feather boas with massive grins on their faces. What a place!"

Bestival have also announced that Scottee will exlusive be bringing the finest drag artists from across the UK, while  Jodie Harsh will take over The Port with acclaimed gay party, Room Service. They'll be bringing special guests and 'unbridled queer action' across the weekend with Cliche on Thursday, Sink The Pink hosting proceedings from 1-4am on Friday and Saturday night with Bourgeois And Maurice, Gutterslut, Morning Glory, and The Brass Funkeys.

There will also be Sketch comedy with Guilt & Shame, a 'homo hip-hop party vibe' from Hard Cock Life, as well as cabaret stars with Spandy Andy, House of Blakewell's House Party, The Church, Musical Bingo, Last Man Standing, Robin & Partridge, Legs Akimbo - and much, much more.

So far, Bestival boasts a massive line-up that features the likes of Chic and Nile Rodgers, Foals, Beck and Outkast, Chvrches, London Grammar, Disclosure, Wild Beasts, Busta Rhymes, Basement Jaxx, Chase & Status and many more.

Bestival takes place at Robin Hill County Park on the Isle Of Wight from 4 - 7 September, 2014. For more information visit Gigwise gig tickets
