To celebrate 20 years since the emergence of Britpop, presenters Steve Lamacq and Jo Whiley will reunite to revive their popular 1990s radio show 'The Evening Session'.

The show will return on Radio 2 from April 6 to 11 and will feature a range of documentaries and interviews with artists including Chvrches and Sophie Ellis-Bextor who will perform cover versions of songs from the era.

The week-long revival is part of a Britpop At The BBC series, hosting programmes on Radio 2, BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Four.

Jo Whiley said about the reunion: “I will always jump at the chance to work with Steve. He is my radio ‘other half’ and we did fight the Britpop wars together, after all. Presenting the Evening Session at the height of Britpop meant that we interviewed some fantastic characters, from Noel to Damon, Justine to Jarvis, and witnessed some seminal moments in the history of music."

Across the week there will be documentaries on Radio 2, 6 Music and BBC Four, including Oasis's 'What's The Story?' on Sunday 6 and Monday 7 April, where Liam and Noel will tell the story of the band and their success.

There will also be a top-30 countdown on 6 Music asking listeners to vote for their favourite Britpop song.

Lamacq and Whiley originally co-hosted The Evening Session from 1993 to 1997 on BBC Radio 1 and was the place to hear the likes of Blur, Pulp, Oasis and more.
