Interpol made their live comeback and treated fans to their first taster of new material with a show in Newcastle last night (Sunday 16 March, 2014). See footage and the set list below.
The show at Riverside in Newcastle was the band's first show together since 2011, and acted as an inimate warm-up gig for their upcoming headline dates on the NME tour alongside Temples, Royal Blood and Circa Waves.
The NYC gloom-rockers' succinct, career-spanning and hit-packed set featured the live debut of new material from their upcoming fifth album.
'My Desire' sounds like a staple Interpol classic, with a meandering bassline layered with bubbling drama, but it's 'Anywhere' that features that delicious blend of an immediately infectious riff, pounding rhythms and a dark but anthemic chorus.
They also aired new track 'All The Rage Back Home' but we can't find any shaky Youtube footage of that just yet. Guess the rest of us will just have to go and catch them on tour.
