Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger is said to be 'shocked and devastated' by the apparent suicide of girlfriend L'Wren Scott, who was found dead yesterday (17 March 2014) in her New York home.
The rock legend recently announced a string of European festival dates and is currently on tour in Australia. The statement was issued through Jagger's official spokesperson. The Rolling Stones have cancelled their upcoming Perth show, which was due to take place on Wednesday, 19 March 2014.
An official cause of death for the fashion designer and model is yet to be confirmed, but early reports suggest Scott hung herself in her NY apartment. It has been suggested that her fashion label owed over £4 million in debt.
Tributes have poured in from the fashion, music and acting world to L'Wren Scott, who had been dating Jagger since 2001.
"This is a horrible and tragic loss," said Madonna in tribute to Scott. "I loved L'Wren's work and she was always so generous with me."
"Such sad news," said Duran Duran in a statement. "Our condolences are with L'Wren's family and friends."
