The Rolling Stones have cancelled their Perth gig on Wednesday night (17 March 2014) following the death of Mick Jagger's model and fashion designer girlfriend L'Wren Scott.
The band were scheduled to perform at the Perth Arena this week, on the opening night of their Australian tour, but the show has now been cancelled. A short statement from concert organisers revealed that there were currently no plans to reschedule the gig, but advising ticket holders that a further update was imminent.
"Please note no further information is available at this time," organisers Frontier Touring wrote on Facebook and Twitter. "Ticket holders are asked to hold on to their tickets until a further update is available."
The death of L'Wren Scott has put the rest of The Rolling Stones Australian tour in jeopardy, with many more shows likely to be cancelled as Jagger grieves for the death of his girlfriend. The two had been dating since 2001. Jagger is said to be 'shocked and devastated' according to a statement from his official spokesman.
The Rolling Stones have recently announced a number of European shows, in Holland, Belgium, Berlin and Dusseldorf - as well as a slot at this year's Pinkpop festival in the summer. There is no word on whether any of these shows will be affected by Scott's death.
