Lorde responded to new that the controversial Westboro Baptist Church were planning to picket one of her US gigs, before deleting said Tweets.
The 'Royals' superstar was in Chicago yesterday (Wednesday 18 March, 2014) when she reacted to the news that the right-wing, homophobic Christian group would be protesting outside her show at Midland Theater in Kansas on 21 March.
According to The Guardian, the 17-year-old's Tweets read: "Hahaha omg just found out westboro baptist church are going to picket my show in kansas city.
"Everyone wear rainbow clothing to that show ... [and] try to kiss church members who are same sex as you. They will so love it. Christmas comin early in kansas city."
To be fair, it would be nice to see Lorde in a dash of colour, but either way - good for Lorde. The clash came about after she recently criticised an Australian radio DJ for apparently claiming that there was "something wrong with lesbians" - before the Westboro clan came back and claimed she "doesn’t have enough sense to put in a thimble."
Other musicians to face the picket of Westboro Baptist Church include Radiohead and Foo Fighters - the latter hilariously fought back with a redneck pro-gay anthem. Let's see what Lorde's next move is.
