Metallica have unveiled a new garage demo version of their track 'Lords of Summer'. Listen below.
The early recording of the track, which is clearly unmastered, sounds great, bringing Metallica back to the roots of their sound. It calls back in particular to the Master of Puppets era, composed of eight minutes of heavy rythmic riffing and one hell of a guitar solo from the legendary Kirk Hammet. As Hetfield says "the lords of summer have returned".

It is the first track of Metallica's as yet untiltled new album, which is currently in the works. The track was first debuted at a Metallica By Request gig in Bogota, Colombia. It is the first glimpse at new material from the band in five years and is a clear hint that they are finally in the studio and recording. Look out for a release late 2014 perhaps?
