Happy Mondays man turned future politician Bez has slammed the current Government, claiming that they have been 'entirely bought and paid for by bankers'.
Earlier this month, it emerged that Bez, real name Mark Berry, planning to running for Parliament at next year's general elections. The 49-year-old maraca-shaking Madchester legend told the Manchester Evening News of his plans to run as an MP in his hometown of Salford, declaring his priorities were to 'stir things up' and bring about the redistribution of wealth, tackling cancer and dementia, and ending all war.
Now, in a lengthy column for The Guardian, Bez has revealed that one of his main reasons to running is to take bees into schools (not in a threatening way).
"The main reason I have decided to run as an independent MP for Salford and Eccles is because I've quietly been living a permaculture existence for the past three years," said Bez. "I'm a beekeeper and take beehives into schools, along with juices and organic vegetables. I am trying to get permaculture on to the national curriculum to teach children how to take care of their own health, rather than relying on businesses to feed them."
As well as explaining his fierce opposition to fracking and GM crops, Bez outlined his plans to 'fight the revolution from within' - slamming the banking suystem's hold over the Government.
"I've been calling myself a revolutionary as I have given up all personal ownership, have started living a certain way and have been shouting about changing things," he continued. "But then I realised it's not a revolution I need: I should contribute. There is a system set up that we live in, and I've got to use that system and fight the revolution from within. It's about taking steps against the bankers, corporations and people trampling all over human rights."
Bez added: "The government have all been bought and paid for by the bankers. They have been lobbied out of their minds. Not one of them has got any concern for the people they are representing or the environment. All they are interested in is lining their pockets."
Former Celebrity Big Brother winning Bez would join the political pop ranks of Blur drummer Dave Rowntree, who ran as the Labour candidate for the London and Westminster, but lost at the last election.
