David Bowie has been voted as the favourite act to be announced for Glastonbury 2014, beating the likes of Foo Fighters and Prince to claim the top spot.

Music fans voted in their thousands in a Gigwise poll to name who they would most like to see play at the Worthy Farm festival this June, naming The Thin White Duke as their dream act.

While the full Glastonbury line-up is expected to be announced any day now, fans may be left disappointed as Bowie has consistently denied rumours that he will be playing any live shows off the back of his critically-acclaimed and insanely successful 2013 comeback album, The Next Day.

Elsewhere in the poll, Foo Fighters came in second. The band have played a string of shows in Mexico and America recently, as they prepare to release their upcoming eighth. Dave Grohl and co are yet to announce any UK dates, and with the album expected this summer, the 'All My Life' rockers have been a strong Glastonbury rumour for some months now.

Elsewhere, Prince placed third in our poll, while Pharrell came in at No.4 and Bombay Bicycle Club completed our top five. Prince has also denied any association with Glasto this year, but Pharrell and Bombay Bicycle Club seem far more likely to perform.
