Michael Eavis has applied for Glastonbury Extravaganza's licence to be extended for 2 more years, until 2016.

The event, which takes place in the grounds of Glastonbury Abbey on August 9 (not THE Glastonbury festival), has been held every year since 1996, except in 2012. The Extravaganza is an alternative for those who missed out on the major Glasto festival or just prefer not to do the whole camping thing.

This year's event is headlined by Robert Plant and his new band the Sensational Shape Shifters, as well as West African musician Juldeh Camara, Massive Attack's John Baggott, guitarists Skin Tyson and Justin Adams and many more.

Previous acts to appear at the Extravaganza include Status Quo, Van Morrison and Jools Holland. Bryan Ferry and The Bryan Ferry Orchestra headlined the event in 2013.

Tickets for the Glastonbury Extravaganza on August 9 are on sale now. For more information and tickets, visit Gigwise Gig Tickets
