Kate Bush has told fans that she is 'overwhelmed' by the mad rush for her upcoming London residency shows, after tickets to the Hammersmith gigs sold out in just 15 minutes. 

Tickets to Kate Bush's 22 Before The Dawn gigs at the Eventim Hammersmith Apollo from August - October went on sale at 9.30am this morning (Friday 28 March, 2014) - with retailers claiming that over 80,000 tickets were snapped up within 15 minutes. They are her first proper live dates in 35 years. 

"I'm completely overwhelmed by the response to the shows," said Kate Bush in a statement." Thank you so much to everyone. Looking forward to seeing you all later this year."

So manic was the struggle for tickets, that 'No Kate Bush' became a top trending topic on Twitter. Higher-priced hospitality packages were also available, offering fans a hamper containing salmon pâté, poussin caesar salad, prawn salad with pistachio cous cous and a bamboo cone of chocolate and caramel-dipped berries. That was the most middle-class sentence you will read today.
