The Decemberists and Yo La Tengo are the latest artists to be announced to appear in an upcoming episode of the brilliant Parks And Recreation.
The following sentence is a bit of a spoiler, so look away now if you don't want to know where the current season is heading.
Are you ready? OK then. Well, Amy Poehler’s character Leslie Knope is setting up a 'unity concert' to bring together the newly-merged towns of Pawnee and Eagleton. The AV Club report that season finale, which will be aired in the US on 24 April will see the concert play out with some pretty big names alongside fictional musicians.
The Decemberists and Yo La Tengo, as well as Wilco's Jeff Tweedy starring as former lead singer of Land Ho!
"One of our writers, Donick Carey, is very good friends with the band Yo La Tengo, who are one of my favourite bands," roducer Michael Schur told The AV Club, "and he emailed them and said, ‘Hey, do you guys want to play Bobby Knight Ranger?’ And they were, like, ‘Sure!’ So Yo La Tengo makes an appearance as Bobby Knight Ranger, playing ‘Sister Christian'."

Meanwhile, The Decemberists are currently working on their upcoming seventh album - rumoured for release later this year.
