Sam Smith has taken to the iconic Saturday Night Live stage to perform two songs from his upcoming debut album. Watch the performances below.
The British singer, who won the 2014 Critics Choice Brit Award and also topped BBC's Sound of 2014 poll, performed 'Stay With Me' and 'Lay Me Down' on the US sketch show, which was hosted this week by comedian Louis C.K.

The singer recently collaborated with Disclosure on their breakthrough single 'Latch', as well as with Naughty Boy on UK No.1 single 'La La La'. He also scored his first solo No.1 with 'Money On My Mind', which he performed with Taylor Swift as a special guest on her tour. His latest single, 'Stay With Me', will be released as a digital download on 18 May.

Saturday Night Live has welcomed a host of musical guests since it premiered in 1975, including ABBA, Chuck Berry, The Rolling Stones and Bastille.
Sam Smith's debut studio album In The Lonely Hour is due to be released in the UK on 26 May.
