With the pre-telecast awards taking place on Saturday 29 March and the final ceremony taking place last night, Arcade Fire took home the prize for Alternative Album Of The Year for 2013's Reflektor, while Tegan EGand Sara won best group, pop album and best single - bringing the Heartthrob stars wins to three in total.

Speaking at the event, the Quin sisters said that they were overwhelmed at the level of recognition.

 "When we asked our parents if we could play music instead of go to university, they were really mad at us," said Tegan. "And they agreed to let us do that for a couple years, and somewhere in all of that, we signed a record deal with Neil Young and Elliot Roberts. And Elliot Roberts told us that when we were in our 30s, we'd write good music but that our 20s were for exploring the world and experiencing heartbreak."

She continued:  "And we are absolutely in our 30s. So I want to say thanks to everyone who has supported us from the time we were teenagers. I don't think very many people, certainly not us, thought two queer kids from northeast Calgary would get to here. And here we are. So thank you very much, to each and every one of you, thank you very much."

Arcade Fire were away performing at Lolapalooze in Chile, but accepted their award via a pre-taped message, with Win Buteler saying: "Hey, thank you guys so much. We really wanted to be there but we're in South America right now. Thank you so much for the Juno. We're so excited.

"Hope it's not too cold."

Meanwhile, A Tribe Called Red took home the Breakthrough Group Of The Year, Drake won Rap Recording Of The Year, and Bachman-Turner Overdrive were inducted into the Hall Of Fame. See the full list of winners here
