Julian Casablancas has stated that his solo album, and also that he plans to record new material with The Strokes.
Over the past few months, Casablancas has been previewing material from his solitary venture with new band The Voidz, playing much discussed shows at SXSW and putting out a perplexing eight-minute video. However, now he has revealed that the album has been pushed back, despite expectations it would be out earlier this year.
Speaking to Mexico's La Tecera, The Strokes frontman said that a September release was now likely to be on the cards.
"“There are 45 different things that I’d like to do," he said, adding that the album sounds like Black Flag to a song of the Congo and Sébastian Teller. "I do not like hearing the same genre for three songs in a row."

Moving on to discuss where The Strokes are currently at, Casablancas said: "We’re trying to carry on as friends, taking it easy, recording a couple of songs, and do a couple of shows."
Currently the band's only show will take place at the Governor's Ball Music Festival in June.
