The Cure frontman Robert Smith has clarified recent comments about the band's forthcoming record 4:14 Scream, and has now revealed the band are actually working on two new records.

In a rather long and confusing post on the band's official website, the frontman aimed to clear up any confusion from fans after he remarked 4:14 Scream was "a bit of a sore point", and detailed a timeline of events from 2007, including band members leaving and rejoining and records being scrapped and rerecorded.

"I think 4:13 Dream is an excellent Cure album and all the B-sides are fab...but the culmination of the project wasn't quite what it should have been, as 16 of the original 33 songs were 'left on the shelf'", he wrote.

Explaining around 33 songs recorded in 2008 for 4:13 Dream were unreleased, Smith revealed he hopes to release 2 records of the previously unheard material in "the next month or three" - a limited edition of 4:26 Scream (remixes and instrumentals) and 4:14 Scream (with vocals).
