Alanis Morissette and her husband MC Souleye are attempting to sue their former employees over claims they kidnapped their pet dog.
Morissette's dog Circus is currently in the care of the singer's former housekeeper and former dog walker, who claim that they were asked to keep the dog after he became food aggressive and obese, and began urinating in the house. Morrisette and her husband however, claim that the dog was temporarily placed in their care due to a "hectic touring schedule."
Maria Garcia and her fiancee Patrick Murch were recently fired by Morissette and her husband, whose real name is Mario Treadway, and legal action has been taken claiming the pair stole the dog. In a statement on their blog "Save Circus', Garcia described the accusations as "malicious and extremely hurtful."
The pair also uploaded a video to YouTube defending themselves, which sees Circus sleeping on Murch's lap. In the video they describe how private investigators had been sent to their house, but left when they determined that the accusations were incorrect.

Since the release of the statement and the video, further legal documents have been filed by Morissette and her husband, claiming that the video endangers the dog by making him known to potential dognappers. The dog, meanwhile, is unaware any of this is happening, and is probably hungry or sleeping.
