The winner of the Glastonbury Emergent Talent Competition has been revealed as M+A, whose prize is a slot on one of the festival's main stages, as well as a £5,000 prize.
The competition also awarded two runners-up, Cornwall four piece The Black Tambourines and South West London singer-songwriter Izzy Bizu, who were each given £2,500.
M+A were announced as the winners by Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis following the live finals in Pilton last night (5 April), which saw the shortlist of 8 acts performing ten minute showcases. Many of the acts who competed are likely to be given the chance to perform on smaller stages of the festival, which takes place from 25 - 29 June.
M+A, who are not signed to a major label, are made up of Italian duo Michele Ducci and Alessandro Degli Angioli, and their new album These Days is set for release on 30 September.
Speaking of the album on their website, the band said: "What we did for These Days was as a sort of preparation of the color on the palette - we tried something new - and after a year of working we decided that it was time to separate ourselves from part of our work."
