Kaiser Chiefs have scored their first No.1 album in seven years with their latest release, knocking X Factor winner Sam Bailey from the top spot.

Frontman Ricky Wilson's recent stint as a coach on BBC's The Voice has helped to raise the band's profile, and indeed land new LP Education, Education, Education And War at the top of the charts - their first No.1 since 2007's Yours Truly, Angry Mob.

Wilson took to Twitter once the news had broken:

Elsewhere, The Power Of Love by Sam Bailey slipped to No.2, while George Michael finds himself at No.3 with Symphonica and Johnny Cash is at No.4 with Out Among The Stars. John Legend completes the top five with Love In The Future.

Meanwhile in the singles charts, Aloe Blacc is at No.1 with 'The Man', while John Legend follows at No.2 with 'All Of Me'. Duke Dumont feat. Jax Jones come in at No.3 with 'I Got U' while Route 49 feat Jess Glynne are at No.4 with 'My Love'.

Faul & Wad Ad vs Pnau complete the top five with 'Changes'.
