New Zealand pop superstar Lorde performed one of the biggest gigs of her career this weekend (5 April, 2014), and has spoken of her surprise and awe at the 40,000 people who attended her set at Lollapalooza festival in Brazil.
The 'Royals' chart topper was among the big name acts at this year's event, where the likes of Muse, Arcade Fire, Nine Inch Nails, Soundgarden and more also played. The star performed a huge show to 40,000 Brazilian fans, and took to Twitter to share he awe at the huge number of fans who attended her set, seeming to have been unaware during her slot how many people were attending.

She also shared an impressive shot of the audience at her Lollapalooza gig, revealing that yes, quite a lot of people were watching Lorde perform.

The young star performed a 12-song set at the festival, performing mostly tracks from her debut album, Pure Heroine, plus EP track 'Biting Down' and cover versions of 'Easy' by Son Lux and Kanye West's 'Hold My Liquor', which she previously performed in September 2013.
