Muse's Matt Bellamy is set to feature on the new album from New Zealand singer Kimbra.

Kimbra, best known for featuring on Gotye's huge 2011 single 'Somebody That I Used To Know', recorded at least one song with Bellamy for her second solo album.

News of the collaboration was revealed in a press release for the singer's co-headline tour with Janelle Monae, which listed confirmed album collaborators including Van Dyke Parks, Thundercat, Mark Foster, John Legend and Matt Bellamy. The singer is also reported to have worked with Queens Of The Stone Age, Dirty Projectors and Unknown Mortal Orchestra on new material.

According to Faster Louder, Bellamy visited the studio and ended up laying down guitar on what is rumoured to be the album's first single.

Speaking in an interview with Faster Louder, Kimbra said: “What united all of the people I’ve worked with on this record is the love of a great song, the love of a great melody, the love of a potent lyric, or a hypnotic drum beat."

Kimbra released her debut solo album Vows in 2011, which featured the singles 'Settle Down' and 'Cameo Lover.'

Meanwhile, Muse performed a tribute cover of the Nirvana song 'Lithium' last week during their Lollapalooza set, to mark the 20th anniversary of Kurt Cobain's death.
