Josh Record is making quiet waves on the UK music scene, the young Londoner proving a mighty singer/songwriter and a promising new talent. His abilities and potential are on clear display in his cover of 'Flume' by Bon Iver. Watch the performance below, first, in our exclusive premiere.
Recorded for Transmitter TV, Record's cover rivals the original for sheer emotional impact, and musters the same sense of frailty and power with which Justin Vernon made his name with Bon Iver. Record's vocals are spectacular, as are those of his accompanying musicians in his Transmitter session. Check it out below.
Record has frequently been compared to Vernon, as the two share a similar falsetto sound, especially on single 'For Your Love' single, which was named Zane Lowe's Hottest Record In The World when it was re-released in March 2014.
Record's eagerly awaited debut album, Pillars, is due for release on 14 July 2014, and he will perform a headline show at London's Scala on 29 May, 2014. Click here to buy tickets to the gig.
