Lorde has finally met the inspiration behind her massive international breakthrough single 'Royals', American baseball hero George Brett.
According to Major League Baseball's official Twitter account, the New Zealand teen pop sensation met the baseball Hall of Fame star and Kansas City Royals’ iconic third baseman ahead of her show in Las Vegas last night (Wednesday 16 April, 2014).
The inspiration for the massive Pure Heroine single came when Lorde saw this now legendary photo of Brett.
"I had this image from the National Geographic of this dude just signing baseballs," Lorde told VH1 last year. "He was a baseball player and his shirt said, ‘Royals’. It was just that word. It’s really cool."
