History was made yesterday (19 April), as Jack White produced the world's fastest released record in celebration of Record Store Day.
The singer, who is one half of The White Stripes, held a day of festivities at his Third Man studio in Nashville, Tennessee.
At 10am, White took to the stage in the Blue Room of his studio, which is the only live venue in the world that records live shows straight to vinyl. The masters of his performance were then rushed to the United Record Pressing plant, which pressed the 24s.
White then played a few more songs for the crowd, including The White Stripes' 'Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground' and new track 'Just One Drink.'
After the show, White rushed to the plant to oversee the pressing process, before returning 3 hours, 55 minutes and 21 seconds later to deliver the records to hundreds of queueing fans.
The A-side of the single was the title track and first single from White's forthcoming second solo album Lazaretto, with a cover of Elvis Presley's 'The Power Of My Love' forming the B-side.
"I woke up at about 4 in the morning last night," said White of the ambitious project, "and I thought, 'Wow. I think there's about 12 or 13 things that could really go wrong tomorrow. I just thought how difficult it would be to explain to people if we didn't pull it off, so thank God we did."
Jack White's second solo studio album Lazaretto is set for release on 10 June via Third Man and Columbia.
