The Libertines have confirmed plans to play warm up shows ahead of their huge Hyde park reunion for British Summer Time in July.
Carl Barat and Pete Doherty have revealed that they are aiming to play some intimate shows similar to their gig at the Forum in 2010. Also in the vein of how the band used to operate, Doherty also hinted that some of the pre-shows could be free, all that matters is that people are into it.
"There'll be a warm-up, and there might be a free one for people who can't get into Hyde Park, maybe," Doherty tells NME.
"We did mention it would be nice to do a warm-up," added Barat. "I’m sure the people who look at that stuff are fully clued up enough to leave the options open. It'd be cool to do somewhere of a similar size to The Forum, somewhere where the audience is likely to be one that’s really into it and potentially starved of it perhaps. Not giving away too many clues there…"

The Libertines are due to play Hyde Park alongside The Pogues, Spiritualized, Maximo Park, Wolf Alice, Swim Deep on 5 July. The Enemy, Reverend and the Makers, I Am Kloot, The Twang, Darlia, Cuckoolander, The View, Brownbear, Raglans and The Rifles are also due to appear.
