Spotify has forced US funk band Vulfpeck to remove an album of complete silence because it violates their terms of content.
The 'album', which is the band's fourth and is named Sleepify, was uploaded to Spotify to generate money for a tour. Vulfpeck encouraged fans to stream it on repeat, and if enough money was raised, tickets for the tour would be free.

Since then though, the band have removed the album from the music streaming service, replacing it with a three 'track' EP called Official Statement.
On the EP, Jack Stratton says, "About five minutes ago I received an email from Spotify. The gist of it was that, while they enjoy Sleepify and thought it was funny and clever, it violated their terms of content."
He continued: "So I don't know what's going to happen with it – it's very uncertain at the moment…And in light of that uncertainly I want to take 30 seconds silence to ponder the uncertainty."
This is followed by the aforementioned 30 seconds of silence, and then instrumental track 'Parted Sea (Strong Pesach)'.
It's currently unclear how much money Vulfpeck's silent album raised before it was removed from Spotify, or indeed whether they'll still be receiving the money.
Spotify have refused to comment on the incident.
