After Liam Gallagher tweeting the word "Oasis" sent fans into a frenzy over a possible reunion and Glastonbury appearance, the festival has confirmed that the band will not be playing this year.
After a fan tweeted Glastonbury co-organiser Emily Eavis asking her to clear up the rumours ahead of tomorrow's ticket resale, she responded with: "Oasis aren't playing this year." This was subsequently retweeted by the festival's official Twitter account.

Liam Gallagher prompted much speculation on Thursday (24 April) when he tweeted every letter of the band's name, before signing off with "OASIS LG", a sentiment that was retweeted over 34,000 times.
However former Oasis guitarist Bonehead told NME that the tweets were probably because the two went to the pub together.
Oasis split up back in 2009 after 18 years together, and since then brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher have remained famously distant, with Liam claiming that the two "don't really have a relationship."
Glastonbury festival takes place between 25 - 29 June, and the resale of cancelled and refunded tickets begins tomorrow (27 April) at 9am.
