Aloe Blacc has criticised the controversial Robin Thicke hit 'Blurred Lines', describing the song as "damaging to the psyche of young girls and guys."
The song, which was released last year, was recently revealed as the most downloaded track of all time, having sold over 1.53 million copies. Thicke described the achievement as "a dream come true."
However 'Blurred Lines' has seen more than its share of controversy, with many criticising the sexually aggressive lyrics and the video's objectification of the female body.

Now Aloe Blacc, whose Avicii collaboration 'Wake Me Up' competed with Thicke in the charts, has weighed in on the argument. According to Contact Music, Blacc discussed the song during an interview with BANG Showbiz, saying: "There's really no problem with the song 'Blurred Lines' aside from the subtle innuendos that are made glaringly apparent in the music video."
He continued, "To open people up and then to dump trash into them, is to me, no matter what your religion is, it's sacrilege, it's immoral.
"The machismo, the misogyny, the violence, the disrespect... I just don't think it's necessary and I actually think it's damaging to the psyche of young girls and it's damaging to the psyche of young guys who sort of fantasise in this world of being macho and sexist."
Aloe Blacc's third album Lift Your Spirt was released in October, and reached No.5 in the UK albums chart.
