Punk heroine Brody Dalle launched her brilliant new album Diploid Love by performing an in-store session at London’s Rough Trade East last night (Sunday 27April). Check out our exclusive photos from the gig below.

The former Distillers and Spinerette frontwoman took to the stage at 7pm, treating 100 fans to an intimate performance of her debut solo album Diploid Love. Fans in attendance were also able to get their hands on a copy of the album a day early.

Dressed in a tight polka-dot shirt and accessorizing with a red wraparound neck scarf, the singer looked chic and composed as she delivered tracks to apprehensive admirers. “I love you so much that my vagina hurts,” yelled a fan at one point. “Well, I haven’t heard that one before,” replied Dalle.

The star played a short but sweet five-song set, featuring energetically catchy new single ‘Don’t Mess With Me’ and the awe-inspiring ‘Meet the Foetus/Oh The Joy'. Fans responded with shouts and screams, as the singer flicked her hair around wildly and screamed through songs with a forceful vitality.

The singer co-produced the album in the studio she shares with husband Josh Homme, and with previous confessions that it’s her most matured release yet, she took the time thank her fans. “I just want to say thank you for letting me scream at you. You’re all weird,” Dalle told the crowd before launching into ‘Parties for Prostitutes.’

Brody Dalle Played:
‘Rat Race’
‘Don’t Mess With Me’
‘Meet the Foetus’
‘Parties for Prostitutes’
‘Underworld’

Diploid Love is out now.
