Beyoncé has paid tribute to her fan Chelsea Lee James, who passed away from cancer.
The pair met twice, once in 2009 when James was invited to perform on stage with Beyoncé during a rendition of 'Halo' in Australia and again backstage at a show in 2013. The meeting was organised by children's charity Camp Quality.
Afterwards she told the Daily Telegraph: "I was so excited to meet Beyoncé again, this time ... I actually got to meet her backstage and talk to her and laugh with her, which was so cool. I'll never forget this."
James sadly passed away 21 April after a ten year battle with the disease with Beyoncé hearing of the tragic news. The singer then sent a note along with 90 white roses, paying commiserations to the family and saying that she would "never forget" James
"Love and prayers to you and your family. Chelsea was a beautiful girl and I am so happy I was able to meet her. She touched my heart and I will never forget her," Beyoncé wrote in the note.
