Brody Dalle has spoken out in defence of Arctic Monkeys' frontman Alex Turner's infamous BRIT Awards speech.
The former Distillers frontwoman turned solo icon was talking to MTV when asked about Turner's controversial and opinion-dividing speech, in which he declared that 'rock n' roll will never die'.
"I don’t get it, I don’t understand what the big deal was," replied Dalle. "I heard there was a kerfuffle about what he said and then I read what he said and - Is it just me? - there’s nothing wrong with what he said! More people need to say what he said, I reckon. I’m proud of you Alex Turner, wherever you are!"
Dalle continued: "Here’s always time [for it] to make a comeback. There’s always time for rock and roll. I like dance too so I just feel like it can all exist, but it’s definitely awesome when rock n roll is dominating the charts."
