Fans and festival-goers have given mixed reactions to Metallica reportedly being chosen to headline Saturday night at Glastonbury 2014. 

A huge wave of some of the biggest acts to be gracing Worthy Farm this summer was announced earlier this month - but the Saturday night headliner was not announced due to 'contractual reasons'. Now, The Sun have stated that it will indeed, be Metallica. It is believed that the 'contractual reasons' may be down to the band being previously announced as a 'UK exclusive' for this year's Sonisphere festival. 

The rumours began when drummer Lars Ulrich said that the band 'would love to play', before industry insiders soon began confirming that the metal icons would grace the Pyramid Stage. 

The news has proven divisive. Legends and awesome as they are, Glasto has often shyed away from booking metal and hard rock acts - but then they used to say the same for hip-hop before they booked Jay Z.
