The 21-year-old Oxford lad is set for big things on the UK folk-scene, and will make for perfect Sunday afternoon festival slots with his subtle, melodic music. 'Green', taken from his debut album The Land, The Sea & Everything Lost Beneath is a soothing, heartfelt introduction to the newcomer, with a stunning melody and delicate female backing vocals. Both the single and album are released on 12 May 2014 (click here to pre-order), and Barnes states that the record is themed on his interest in oceans, lakes and what lies beneath the surface of our everyday lives.
"It's a very nautical themed album, plenty of water and land based references but I also like the idea of unearthing all these songs from somewhere dark and deep," he says.
