A 21 year-old man has died following a stage dive at the show of metalcore band Miss May I, though the exact cause of his death is still unclear.
According to various reports, Alberto Scott jumped off the stage during the band's show at Webster Hall in New York City on Saturday (3 May), but was not caught.
He reportedly suffered a serious head injury upon landing, and paramedics who were called to the scene where unable to revive him.
However, an unverified crowd-funding page raising money for Scott's funeral expenses says he "collapsed and died after dancing."
Miss May I acknowledged the incident on their Facebook page, saying that they will be posting a statement shortly.
Scott's death has not yet been officially confirmed, but tributes have been left to him on his Facebook page, as well as on the blog of Sinestra Studios. The blog originally intended to post a review of the show, but instead posted an account of the incident and tributes from friends.
"Seriously such a fucking good friend", the blog quotes a friend as saying. "I still can't believe that he is gone.
"I will always be thinking of you, you were a homie and a brother that will always remain in my heart. Mosh hard in heaven my brother."
