The Great Escape weather forecast: a wet weekend in Brighton

Those of you heading to Brighton for The Great Escape festival this weekend may want to pack some waterproofs and an umbrella, as it's going to rain loads and be pretty wet.

The acclaimed new music festival will see hundreds of performances from the likes of Albert Hammond Jr, Kelis, Jon Hopkins, Kaiser Chiefs, Say Lou Lou, Royal Blood, Future Islands, Wild Beasts and many more.

While the gigs are mostly at Brighton's countless brilliant indoor venues, travelling between them all may prove a little damp, as the BBC predicts some pretty unpleasant weather in the coming days.

The weather forecast for The Great Escape 2014 is:

Thursday 8 May: 11°C-13°C, heavy rain throughout the day before easing into heavy cloud in the evening
Friday 9 May: 10°C-13°C, cloudy in the morning before light rain throughout the afternoon
Saturday 10 May: 10°C-13°C, a mixture of light and heavy rain throughout the day and into the evening
