The Standard Hotel in New York are launching an investigation into the 'security breach' which led to the leak of a video that allegedly shows Solange attack Jay Z in the elevator. Watch the incident below.
The footage, taken from a security camera and released by TMZ, shows a man and a woman involved in a violent altercation - believed by many to be Jay Z and sister-in-law and singer Solange Knowles, following this years 2014 Met Gala. During the video, originally published on gossip website TMZ, the female is seen lashing out violently at the male, before being pulled away by another man. She is then seen attempting to kick the first. It is uncertain if it is indeed Jay Z and Solange, but TMZ are reporting this as fact.
A spokesman for the Standard Hotel in New York told the Associated Press that they were "shocked and disappointed that there was a clear breach of our security system", reports Billboard.
They added: "The hotel says the leaked video violates the confidentiality it provides customers and that it "will discipline and prosecute the individuals involved to our fullest capacity."
Jay Z and Solange are yet to respond to the allegations.
