You won't see any Sasha Fierce-type personas from Lorde - the 'Team' star has revealed she feels confident being herself on and off the stage.

Speaking to Stylist magazine, the 17 year old singer-songwriter described how near-constant touring has given her the confidence to not have to step into an alter-ego when she takes to the stage.

"Having been on the road and performing for the better half of a year, I've found it's easier for me to not have to step into some sort of alter-ego or split personality anymore," she revealed. "I don't feel like, when I walk off stage, I have to be woken up. I'm confident I'm there the whole time."

Lorde has been touring the world since the global success of her breakthrough single 'Royals', and added she's still getting used to her popularity. "It still completely bugs me out that I get to play venues that are sold out in the craziest corners of the world.

"I couldn't point to that place on a map, but these people know the lyrics to a song I wrote a long way away. I can't make that normal in my head."

Lorde, real name Ella Yelich-O'Connor, was recently forced to postpone her Australian tour due to a chest infection. However, the singer will be heading to the UK this summer to play Brixton Academy on June 6 and Shepherd's Bush Empire on June 5.

Brixton Academy is sold out, but the tickets for Shepherd's Bush Empire go on sale May 17 at 10am. For more information and tickets, visit Gigwise Tickets.
