Guns N' Roses have reportedly shot-down split rumours as 'bullshit' after a US publication stated that the band were to finally part ways following their Las Vegas residency.

The information comes from various 'sources', but rumours began to circulate when US publication RadarOnline.com published statements from an unknown individual, who claimed the band were planning to quit and that Axl Rose would retire from music.

"Band members have been told their calendars are free following Vegas," said a source to Radaronline. "Axl is considering retiring and it's done. Band members and support staff were surprised when told the news and are actively looking for work."

The current line-up of the band, Axl Rose, Dizzy Reed, Tommy Stinson, Chris Pitman, Richard Fortus, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, Frank Ferrer and DJ Ashba, kick off their Las Vegas residency on 21 May 2014, with another source stating that Axl Rose feels he has finally earned enough money to retire from music.

However, rock publication Loudwire.com states that a source for the band has told them that these claims are 'bullshit' and that band members will be given time to work on solo projects.

The band have recently spoken of plans for a brand new album, which now would appear to be on hold - whichever 'source' is correct. Fortus spoke to Associated Press earlier in 2013 of plans to record during their Las Vegas residency, saying: "Hopefully very soon we're going to have new stuff out, well in the next year."

"We're going to be in Vegas all together, so hopefully during that time we're going to be able to get into the room and start laying down some more stuff."
