Arctic Monkeys played the first of two residency shows live at London's Finsbury Park last night (23 May) with a set that included hits from across their career - particular attention being given to their globally successful latest album AM.

Their set was preceded by support from Royal Blood, Miles Kane and Tame Impala, the latter of whom were the final band on before Arctic Monkeys, and performed material from both of their two albums to date.

Arriving on stage at 9pm, all members except drummer Matt Helders were wearing suits, with lead singer Alex Turner sporting a black smoking jacket with white patches. "Fucking hell," said Turner as the band took to the stage, "Are you ready for a good time?"

The band opened with 'Do I Wanna Know', before running into 'Snap Out Of It' and 'Arabella', all of which are taken from AM.

Part way through the set, Turner performed a solo acoustic performance of 'A Certain Romance', a song which the band rarely play live anymore, and is taken from their debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not.
