X Factor boyband One Direction are under scrutiny after a video emerged online which appeared to show singer Zayn Malik smoking a joint during the group's world tour.
Shot in Lima, Peru, there is no official confirmation that Malik is indeed smoking an illegal substance, but he and bandmate Louis Tomlinson suggest that is the case. A video of the incident was posted online by The Daily Mail.
"So here we are, leaving Peru. Joint lit. Happy days... What do you think Zayn? About that kind of content?" says Tomlinson in the video, as Malik smokes on camera.
"I think it’s very controversial," responds Malik.

The duo later make references to 'green only' in the video and Tomlinson claims his head is 'a wreck'. He also adds, as a policeman passes the duo's car: "He’s having a look and he’s thinking I’m sure I can smell an illegal substance in there. And he’s hit the nail on the head."
Neither One Direction or their management have made a statement on the video.
